Passport and ID photo size cropper

Government portals state exact pixel or millimetre sizes and strict file limits. Choose the country preset, position the head with the crop controls, pick a plain background for padded areas, and download a JPG that meets the published dimensions.

75–85 is visually lossless for most photos; lower values trade detail for bytes.

1 KB = 1,000 bytes. A strict target may lower quality and then dimensions; the final size is measured, not estimated.

How to use this tool

  1. 1Add a well-lit, front-facing photo against a plain wall.
  2. 2Pick the country or document preset and adjust the crop position so the head sits correctly.
  3. 3Enter the portal's maximum KB if it has one, process, and download.

Before you download

  • Dimensions are converted at 300 DPI, so 35 × 45 mm becomes 413 × 531 pixels. The tool does not write DPI metadata; portals judge pixels, print shops may ask for the millimetre size.
  • Head size, eye position, expression, and background colour are judged by the authority. The crop position helps, but check the official guide before submitting.
  • This tool does not replace a photographer's lighting or remove shadows; it crops, resizes, and compresses.

Typical uses

  • Online passport renewal photo uploads.
  • Visa application portals with pixel and KB rules.
  • ID cards, exam registrations, and staff badges.

Your images stay on your device

This page processes images with your browser's canvas. Files are not uploaded to FileShareFast or anyone else, and your originals are never modified. Sharing is a separate, deliberate step: nothing is sent until you continue to the upload page and create a link yourself.

Re-encoding writes pixel data only, so EXIF and other metadata are not copied into outputs. Animated images are processed from their first frame. Check important images before submitting or printing them.

Frequently asked questions

Which sizes are included?

United States 2 × 2 in (600 × 600 px), the 35 × 45 mm standard used by the UK, EU, Schengen states, India, Japan, Australia and Sri Lanka (413 × 531 px), Canada 50 × 70 mm (591 × 827 px), China 33 × 48 mm (390 × 567 px), and India's 2 × 2 in visa format. Each preset lists its millimetre size.

Does the tool check that my photo complies?

No. It guarantees dimensions and file size only. Compliance with pose, lighting, background, and head-size rules must be checked against the official guidance.

Can I print the result?

Yes. At 300 DPI the pixel dimensions correspond to the physical size. Many print services place several photos on one 4 × 6 in sheet; ask them for their preferred layout.
